When in Doubt, Come back to Your WHY - Reasons Why I Teach Yoga

Journey of exploration. Journey to the Self.

Why I do what I do?

When I started to teach yoga, from the get-go I wanted to share, share the joy, the empowerment, the healing, soothing, and cathartic benefits of yoga with people. Because through yoga I have experienced a splendid self-exploratory journey till today and have tasted the sweetness of the process, even from growing pain.

I do what I do because I want to let more people know, “Yoga is accessible and available to EVERYONE in myriad of ways. Yoga exists in every corner of your life. It is playful, empowering, kind, all-encompassing, and loving.”

“I want to see smile on people’s face.”

“I want to see smile on people’s face.” I remember writing this in an essay in elementary school (when you had to write about “what do you want to become when you grow up.”) That’s what I wrote — regardless what career paths I take.

I think I’m fulfilling my childhood dream. When I walk into and around a roomful of students practicing yoga, when I teach to my YTT trainees, when I talk to students and community outsides of practice, every conversation and expression from people tells me that you’re doing the right thing. I know everything I do is gearing toward the same purpose and has paid off.

The path you choose might not be the easiest and most straightforward path. There might be (and will be, I’m telling you :P) countless of doubts, challenges, and falling (from trying to go upside down.) But you too will enjoy the sweet dew of living true to yourself.
