Kitchen remedy: Recipe for honey lemon tea

Adjustments.jpeg

During this time of changing seasons - and especially this unusual worldwide pandemic climate, it is important to take extra care of ourselves and our loved ones.

A cup of honey lemon tea can help to keep your throat moist and provide vitamin C that boosts your immune system. With this simple recipe, you can make a cup of hot tea in just a few minutes. This medicinal herbal tea serves well as an anchor when you feel under the weather or just as a preventative self-care recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Juice of 1 lemon wedge (the size of lemon juice depends on how big your cup is!)

  • 1 tesp of crystallized honey (or any types of honey you have in hand)

  • 150 ml of hot water

  • 1 thin slice of lemon to decorate

  • 1-2 fresh peppermint leaves (optional)

  • 1-2 thin slices of ginger (optional*)

Methods:

Squeeze lemon juice into your mug. Pour in hot water, and add honey in to stir well until it fully dissolved. You can adjust the sweetness and sourness based on personal preference. Then put a slice of lemon and peppermint leaves to touch. *You can add 1-2 thinly sliced ginger to bring a bit more warmth to your drink, and enjoy extra benefits from the ginger.

I find myself love making this tea in the afternoon after lunch break, before going back to work or study. It serves well for me as an afternoon refresher. Yet, you can literality have this anytime of the day. It can be a perfect warm drink in the early morning to warm and open up your throat or after any meals to help digestion.

Give it a try at home, at work, or at your home office. Leave any comments, feedback, or twist of this recipe! I'd love to hear from your and share more about my kitchen remedy🌿

Till next time:)
